to the standalone drum festival. This change expanded the
whole festival in to 2 very distinct segments at the Fort

masterclasses and drum clinics, including workshops on
sound technology, electric guitar, vocals and world
percussion.

From the evening till past midnight, the party started when
Concert In The Park rolled out all the featured festival artists
in their best performance and full band sets. 2000 people
were thrilled over 2 days of, what will be remembered as, “a
music event filled with great variety”.

The 2010 Summer Youth Olympic Games were the first
edition of the Youth Olympic Games (YOG), and
international multi-sport and cultural event  based on the

On March 3rd, 2013, we had the honor to host 10-time
Grammy Award winning artistes Raul Rekow and Karl
Perazzo from the Santana Band as they conduct their very

Known for their fiery contribution to the music of Santana,
Raul and Karl wowed audiences with the basics and core
heartbeat of the latin percussion that have drawn many
listeners of Santana’s music to pay attention to. Held at the
Lasalle College of the Arts Flexible Performance Space, the
“dynamic duo” transformed the venue into a percussion
command centre that left the audiences’ hearts racing and
thoroughly inspired.

DBS DRUM CHALLENGE
MAY 19, 2013

As part of the DBS Marina Regatta, Singapore's Biggest
Water Sports Festival, held annually at the Marina Bay, the
DBS Drum Challenge showcases Singapore's best in group
percussion and encourages a wide range of genres, age
groups and instruments.
Since 2013, its diversity in the percussive arts segment has
led to the growth and maturity of its individual groups as well
as the players themselves. As consultants to the DBS Drum
Challenge, Fest Events International, in collaboration with
the Singapore Drum Fest, sought to bring this arts segment
further into the arts scene in Singapore, and eventually, Asia.
